GORNJI MILANOVAC

RELIEF

About

The relief of the Rudnik-Takovo region is hilly and mountainous, dynamic and uneven. Mountains and hills dominate, and a smaller part consists of small fields and basins. Altitude zones range from 200 to 1,132 meters above sea level.

The feature of the relief are the long, unbroken ridges that descend from Maljen, Suvobor and Rajac towards the Cacak basin. The lowest and flattest parts of the area are within the valley expansions of Gornji Milanovac, Takovo, Pranjani, Gornja Gruza and Dragolje, Kacer, on the valley plains and gently sloping valley sides of the rivers that flow through these expansions.

The mountainous area is formed by the mountains Rudnik (1,132 m) in the northeast, Rajac (848 m) and Suvobor (866 m) in the north, Maljen (970 m) in the northwest, the Gojna Gora plateau with Siljkovac hill (813 m) in the southwest, Glavaja , Galic and Rozanj (625 m) in the south and Vujan (855 m) and Jesevac (902 m) in the southeast.

The most interesting forms of relief are the volcanic cup Ostrvica (785 m), a pointed eruptive rock located on the northern slope of Rudnik, Treska (735 m), a spherical volcanic rock on the western slopes of Jesevac and Mokra Pecina (Wet Cave), under Ravna Gora, 400 meters long, with an interesting cave jewelry.
