The region covers an area of According to the last official census done in 2011the Municipality of Gornji Milanovac has 44 438 inhabitants while the population of town is 24 048 imhabitants. Density of population on the territory of the Municipality is 53 inhabitants per square kilometer. The largest settlements of the municipality are Villages of Pranjani, (1.519 inhabitants), Rudnik (1.440 inhabitants) and Brdjani (1.049 inhabitants). The Municipality of Gormji Milanovac has 63 settlements and all they are villages except Gornji Milanovac and Rudnik.
